So it’s almost Mother’s Day and we thought we’d give a shout out to all the mammas out there doing the toughest, most thankless job in the world! WOOP!
We know motherhood brings countless pleasures but sometimes it makes you want to hide under the bed with a bottle of wine. So we thought it might help if during those times you had something to make you smile.
That’s why here at The Bowgie Inn, Crantock we’ve put together a few funnies to remind you that you’re not in it alone.
- Carrying children doesn’t end at birth.
It doesn’t even end when they start school. Nope, you’ll be carrying your off-spring financially speaking well into their adult life. Now there’s something to look forward to if your sprogs are still young, if they are now in their 30s never mind. 2.
2. Mums are smart.
No matter what anyone says, spare a few exceptions, Dads are an inferior version of mums. They don’t do quite as much, they don’t seem to remember all the things kids need and they just aren’t as efficient. Keep trying though dads, we appreciate the effort.
- Omniscient Mothers.
Mum not only knows everything, she knows where everything is too. She has the ability to find things in ten seconds flat that other mere mortals (i.e. dads and children) will spend all day searching for. Imagine the brain capacity required for such knowledge… huge. Also imagine the annoyance of being asked where things are every few seconds… also huge.
- Silence is NOT golden.
Mums everywhere know that when silence descends something bad is happening. Mum knows she can put her feet up when she can hear her tribe screeching and stomping around the house, but the moment silence falls she knows it’s time to investigate.
- Pinterest problems.
Everyone loves a bit of pinterest browsing, it’s like leafing through a beautiful magazine that has been compiled just for you. However, it does give the impression that there are mums out there doing all sorts of inhuman things like reupholstering the sofa with an old dress, making magical rainbow cupcakes on a daily basis and doing fishtail braids and smoky eye makeup as if it requires no effort at all whilst the rest of us sit on the sofa in our dressing gowns crying over the digestive biscuit that just fell in our tea mid-dunk.
All that’s left to say is this;
Mums you are blooming brilliant. You do an amazing job and we can’t wait to see you here at The Bowgie soon!
